Tech Ethicist & Digital Life Expert

A frequent speaker and respected tech commentator/writer, Polgar’s ideas and thoughts have been featured in The Boston Globe,  Financial TimesSiriusXMVentureBeatUS News & World ReportTEDxMetroForbesHuffPost LiveEntrepreneur, and many more.

With a background as an attorney and educator, he digs below the surface to examine our tech use from an ethical, legal, and emotional perspective. The result is a unique look into emerging trends and business insight.

Polgar is not your regular tech guy talking about the latest gadget. Instead, he explores the impact that emerging tech is having on us on an individual and cultural level. Commonly found on lifestyle TV shows, some common topics include tech etiquette, digital diets, digital citizenship, post-death communication, mental obesity, selfie culture, and family tech use.

A contributing writer to The Good Men Project and the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI), Polgar digs deep into how technology is affecting our present and future. On his personal blog, Overplugged, he has interviewed notable thinkers such as Malcolm Gladwell, Maria Konnikova, William Powers, and Douglas Rushkoff

He is the Communications Director at Copilot Family, a startup focused on improving how parents and educators approach children’s tech use.

Polgar has been a leading voice in the areas of tech balance, digital citizenship, and tech ethics. He is the originator of the "mental food plate," along with popularizing the term Mental Obesity--concepts that have since been picked up in media outlets across the globe. He often partners with noted Cyber Psychologist Dr. David Greenfield. Together they developed the widely-used Digital Distraction Test. Polgar is also the co-founder of the Digcit Summit, which brings together the nation's leading thinkers concerning digital citizenship.
